So what is this...

Hi all (bloggers, bloggers-to-come and non bloggers)

Welcome to my new weblog here at bloggers.com.
My name is Henrik Gøttig, developer and architech with primary focus on J2EE and .NET. Well, so to say, J2EE is my native platform, but .NET is coming really strong.

On .NET I can say that, thank God, I learned J2EE first. The learning curve was quite..eh..well...steep on J2EE. The learning curve kinda flattened on .NET because I could use all the concepts (patterns, etc.) I have learned while using J2EE and take it right on to .NET.

The other way around, going from .NET to J2EE would have been more difficult. Now, does that say something in favor about .NET or J2EE?
Other bloggers are welcome to comment on this...just be careful NOT to end up in the usual J2EE vs. .NET flame war.

The platforms are very alike. Some might disagree, but that's because they are talking details. When you focus on the "big lines" as I nearly always do when I begin to architect a new solution...the platforms are almost identical. Same background thougts have been given, and in most cases these thoughts are carried out the same way.

Enough on my views on .NET. So, what's this blog all about. Well, I will try to focus on J2EE and .NET, share sample code, solutions to problems (aka patterns), open source initiatives that I think makes my day easier.. and so on. Everything of interest in the area of "deleloping and architecting J2EE and .NET solutions for the web"...

I make solutions for the web...hence the name websolver.dk

No questions about the ".dk" part... You all know what that is...right?

Happy blogging and welcome

I am new to all this. This is actually my first comment. If you have solutions for me I will be forever in your debt. I have problems with getting around the net, big time!!
